History of the Church

The Church Assemblies of the Believers Church (ABC), also known as Believers United Organization is a living Pentecostal church of Jesus Christ. The church was revealed to Bishop (Dr.) Godswill Ogbonnaya Ngene through direct revelations, one of which came to him in the early hours of December 15, 1980 when he saw himself in an Aero plane whose pilot was Jesus Christ, shown line ups of people sitting down in rows inside the plane and on its body written the two names of the church, “Assemblies of the Believers Church (ABC) and Believers United Organization (BUO)”.
The pilot told him (Apostle Ngene) that He was Jesus Christ the owner and founder of the church ABC, but will use him (Apostle Ngene) to start the church. Hence, the church does not have human founder, but a Revelator, the person whom the church was revealed to, who also established the church ABC. "But I make known to you, brethren that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man, for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ (Gal. 1:11-12)” Apostle Paul of the Bible always quoted by Apostle Ngene.
According to Apostle (Dr.) G. O. Ngene, he received over one hundred direct revelations from God about the church and its establishment. The church was also revealed to one prophetess Alice Eze on 16th December, 1980 who told Apostle (Dr.) G. O. Ngene that she had a revelation in which she saw him ordained by God for a special ministry, and that he should start such ministry at Nibo in Awka Area of Anambra State of Nigeria, just to confirm the December 15, 1980 revelation a day later. Other confirmed revelations came from many people such as, Prophet David Onuora, Pastor Daniel Agwu, Pastor C. I. Nwenyi, Elder Daniel Aja Okoro etc.
Presently the church (ABC) operates in many states of the Federation in Nigeria, having over 80 Assemblies (branches), 15 Sections still under one District (soon to be re-created into more Districts), having over 136 ministers both male and female in pay roll. The church also has non ministerial staff, in her pay roll. The church still operate under one Apostle and General Overseer in the person of Bishop Dr. Moses E. Otozi since June 2012, who also serves as the District Administrator in the church after the death of the former Apostle in March, 2012.
The church ABC was incorporated in the year 1991 on the month of July, 23rd with the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the land (Perpetual succession) Act, Cap. 98.

Our Mission and Vission

The aims and objectives of the church ABC are to preach and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in the world, and to build up and promote the progress of the church of Jesus Christ as set forth in their constitution (The Code of the Believers) and also "Reaching the unreached and doing the undone with the gospel of Jesus Christ."
VISION : To evangelize the whole world with the instruments of Love and undiluted word of God as our Lord Jesus comes. (Matt. 28:18-20) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world Amen."

Our Constitution

A journey of hard work and earnest prayer which is nearly a decade long was drawn to a conclusion at exactly seven Gregorian calendar years (18th May 1982 – 18th May 1989). The Revelator of Assemblies of the Believers Church (ABC), Bishop (Dr.) Godswill Ogbonnaya Ngene, by God’s grace and inspiration started the writing of this constitution- THE CODE OF THE BELIEVERS.
This God-given constitution of Assemblies of the Believers Church (ABC) which is also believed to be the BUILDING PLAN of the church ABC was used for the training of the foundation ministers of the church (the first seven) who were trained by the Revelator in the Revelator’s Training Chamber (Nibo temporary campus, Awka, Anambra State of Nigeria) which exercised the functions of the ABC Central Pastoral Training College in 1984 and 1985 before any Assembly of the Church (ABC) was established.
The Constitution consists of Forty-eight (48) Sections, about two hundred (200) sub-sections, very many numbers, and great number of verses and units, etc. It provides the Church (ABC) with among other things, an original system of government known as and called LIMITED THEOCRACY, a good method of administering justice, sound doctrine, and two cardinal departments, namely:
(1) Department of Ministration and
(2) Department of Administration.
